Irregularities in Planning Board exam: PSC chairman M R Baiju appears before crime branch

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: PSC chairman M R Baiju appeared before the crime branch as part of the investigation into irregularities in the Planning Board examination. Crime Branch informed that Hari, another accused in the case and PSC additional secretary is absconding. His statement will be recorded by a team led by IG Ajeetha Begum.

The police had arrested former PSC deputy secretary P Satheesh, who was in charge of the examination section, in PSC Planning Board recruitment scam. The crime branch special investigation team had named Satheesh and R Hari, as accused in the case. There are hints that more will be arrested in the issue.

The government had also taken action against Satheesh and Hari in connection with the case. Hari was suspended, while Satheesh’s retirement benefits were withheld. They were in charge of the evaluation in the planning board chief examination. The investigation team found that they were involved in excluding 58 marks worth of questions without evaluating them.
