'She helped me come out of depression and drug addiction'; Jishin Mohan breaks silence about new rumours

Serial stars Jishin Mohan and Ameya Nair’s friendship is the new hot topic on social media. Many interpret their friendship as love. It was their Instagram reels on social media that opened a flurry of questions on their relationship status. Jishin has finally chosen to respond to the queries.

In an interview granted to an online media, Jishin opened up about his life after divorce. He was first married to serial star Varada. They both married after being in love for several years. However, the relationship failed to work and they soon decided to part ways. And in the interview, Jishin shed light on his friendship with Ameya Nair.

Jishin:

“Not just Ameya, some people like to dig up stories from the photos I post with women. I have a relationship with Ameya that goes beyond friendship. After the divorce, I fell into drug addiction and life was miserable. It was Ameya who helped me come out of it. I don’t mind the vile comments on social media, but things are not the same with Ameya. It is taking a toll on her.

In an earlier interview video of Ameya, the comments were caustic and she was blamed for my divorce. I got divorced in 2021 and met Ameya for the first time only in 2023. These are all baseless comments made by some random users on the internet.

After the divorce, I went into depression for two years, with cannabis and synthetic drugs as solace. Meeting Ameya put my life back on track. She helped me come out of these addictions. I have a great understanding with her and it is beyond friendship. It is not love and won't end in marriage. But it is cruel to insult her on social media solely based on rumours."
