Television star Shiyas Kareem said that he feels sad that businessman Boby Chemmanur was sent to jail for making misogynistic remarks. He questioned whether someone should be sent to jail for passing a comment, while people who commit murder are often let go. Shiyas Kareem added that although he is with Honey Rose in this issue, he believes that both parties are at fault.
"I felt sad. Nowadays, everyone is competing for equality, right? In that case, people should make some compromises both ways. Boche's nature is like that. It's impossible to correct a person. He went to jail, but I don’t agree with that. Those who commit murder are walking freely. Even though those who use drugs get caught, they are not jailed. That’s the biggest issue in Kerala. This is what I believe. Body shaming is very bad, but should one person be jailed for doing that?" Shiyas asked.
"I had also faced false allegations in the past. I once thought that spending one day in jail would feel like spending 100 days. The police should have called both individuals and warned them not to repeat this. The law needs some changes. Some privileges are being misused by women. I don’t blame Honey Rose. She has the right to wear whatever clothes she likes. I am with her. But, I am still asking, should a person be sent to jail for passing a comment? He is old. I felt sad on seeing the police officers grabbing his neck and pushing him into the jeep," he added.
