KOCHI: The High Court said that no matter the shrewd games at play, the truth will emerge in the PSC examination malpractice case. Justice Badharudeen, while criticising the government and the PSC, remarked—alluding to the tale of Mangattachan and Kunhayan Musaliyar—that no matter the attempts to suppress the truth, it will not succeed. The court said it is aware of the machinations at play to conceal the truth.
A single bench of the High Court considered the PSC's petition seeking to quash the Crime Branch investigation; the matter has been adjourned to November 2nd. Previously, the court had cautioned the government and the PSC against acting in collusion (using the colloquial expression "bhai-bhai"). The government informed the court that the PSC initiated action against the culprits and has already dismissed two individuals. Director General of Prosecutions T. Asaf Ali submitted that the demand to quash the FIR is legally untenable.
The court remarked that the situation in this case resembles the testimonies of certain characters from the film *CBI Diarykurippu* (starring Mammootty)—some individuals know a little bit about one aspect, while others know something else, yet there is no clarity on anything. Previously, the court had criticised the government for its inaction, suggesting that the investigation is either being stalled or neglected under the pretext of the petition filed by the PSC.
