Delhi assembly polls: Kejriwal declares assets of Rs 2 crore, no car and house

NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal, national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former chief minister has filed his nomination for the assembly elections. Kejriwal is seeking election from Delhi constituency.

Kejriwal’s poll affidavit filed before the election commission declared assets worth Rs 1.73 crore and does not own a house or car. Kejriwal has Rs 2.96 lakh in bank deposits. He has Rs 40,000 in his hand and Rs 3.46 lakh in movable assets, according to the affidavit. Kejriwal has stated in his affidavit that the value of his immovable assets is Rs 1.77 crore and that he has no investments in fixed deposits, shares, mutual funds or insurance policies.

Kejriwal also said that his wife Sunita has Rs 32,000 in her hand. Arvind Kejriwal does not own a car or house. Sunita uses a 2017 model Maruti Baleno. Kejriwal also said that Sunita has jewellery worth Rs 25.9 lakh, including 320 grams of gold.

Kejriwal's annual income in 2020 was Rs 44.90 lakh, but it has decreased to Rs 7.21 lakh in the financial year 2023-24. Kejriwal's wife Sunita has assets worth Rs 2.5 crore. Kejriwal has 14 criminal cases against him, including irregularities in Amethi and Delhi's liquor policy related to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
