Who is in that white car? Girls and parents in fear amid kidnapping scare in Pathanamthitta

PATHANAMTHITTA: Parents and girls in Pathanamthitta are gripped by fear of kidnapping following complaints from Kodumon and Pazhakulam. The children said two people who arrived in a white car tried to kidnap them.

The statement is that there was an attempt to kidnap the children from an isolated area on the canal road while they were returning home from the madrasa in Pazhakulam. A woman nearby rushed to the spot after hearing the screams of the children, but the car sped away before she could reach them. Reports say that a car similar to the one seen in the footage has been found in Adikattukulangara. The police are questioning the occupants of the car. However, the police have indicated that it is too early to confirm whether the incidents in both places were attempts to abduct children.

The incident happened on Monday evening. The complaint is that those in the car tried to abduct two girls aged nine. The car approached the children when they reached an isolated, overgrown area. The occupants told the girls that they were relatives and asked them to get into the car. They said that they knew the girls' mother and would drop them off at home. The children had told their parents that a man and a woman were inside the car. Their parents later lodged a complaint with the police.

Shortly, another complaint was received about a kidnapping attempt in Angadikkal, Kodumon. Here, too, a white car was involved. The police have obtained footage of the vehicle and are proceeding with the investigation based on these visuals.

There are reports of attempts to abduct children in Kollam. The police are conducting an extensive investigation, examining CCTV footage and other available visuals. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that the incidents in the two locations may have been carried out by the same gang.
