Youth held for theft attempt at ATM

KOZHIKODE: One has been taken into custody amidst a theft attempt. The incident happened early Thursday morning at Parambil Kadavil in Kozhikode. The youth taken into custody by the Chevayur police has been identified as Vijesh (38) of Malappuram.

The incident was during police patrolling Thursday early morning at 2.30 am. The police noticed the shutter of the ATM of a financial institution at Parambil Kadavu half opened. Saw lights and someone inside. After seeing a gas cutter outside the ATM, the police examined. Meanwhile, the youth inside the ATM threatened the police. The police team forcibly took the youth into custody.

Senior Police Officer M Muktidas, CPO A Aneesh and driver M Siddique took the youth into custody. The accused was taken to the police station and grilled.
