'Empuraan', directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and starring Mohanlal, is setting new records in Indian cinema even before its release. All India advance ticket booking for the film began on March 21 at 9 am.

Within 24 hours of the bookings, 6,45,000 tickets were sold in India through ‘BookMyShow’ alone. This is a first in the history of Indian cinema. Within an hour after the booking, almost one lakh tickets were sold in Kerala. ‘Empuraan’ has also shattered the previous pre-sales record set by Vijay movie ‘Leo’ in Kerala.

The film is produced by Subhaskaran, Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies. Empuraan will hit screens on March 27th.
