THRISSUR: Businessman Dharmarajan and former state treasurer of Yuva Morcha Sunil Naik will be questioned again in the Kodakara hawala theft case. The two will be questioned again based on information obtained from the first accused Muhammad Ali and another accused Abdul Rashid. It is learnt that the investigation team has obtained crucial information, including political connections, from the two.
Police are trying to find Sujesh and Ranjith who are absconding. Muhammad Ali was remanded in custody on charges of conspiracy as he was the mastermind who coordinated the gangs. Abdul Rashid is being questioned. The incident came to light when driver Shamjeer filed a complaint with the police that a gang waylaid him at Kodakara and looted his car and Rs 25 lakh he was carrying. It was Abdul Rashid, an aide of Shamjeer, who leaked the information regarding the car and the money to the police.
According to police, the money was handed over to Dharmarajan by former Yuva Morcha state treasurer Sunil Naik.
