Court to pronounce quantum of sentence for Sooraj today

KOLLAM: The Additional Sessions Court in Kollam, which found the accused Sooraj guilty of murdering his wife, will pronounce the quantum of punishment today at 11 am. On Monday, the court had found that Sooraj was guilty of murdering his wife by letting loose a cobra and making it bite her while she was asleep. The prosecution has requested the court to award Sooraj a death sentence as it was a rarest of rare cases. The prosecution said the murder was strange, satanic and brutal and that the accused don’t deserve any mercy.
