THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Uttar Pradesh police have registered a case against a protest march organised by the Campus Front in Thiruvananthapuram. The case was registered against the protest march after video footage showed a man, disguised as Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, being tied and dragged down the road. The Lucknow cyber police registered the case after a complaint was lodged by two Lucknow natives who saw the video footage on Twitter.

As the incident took place in Kerala, the UP police will not be able to register a case directly. Therefore, the cyber police registered the case under sections that include attempt to incite communal violence by spreading the video on social media.
