
Unni Mukandan’s Meppadiyan is a big hit film. Despite Covid, the film earned Rs 9.02 crore. Through this, the actor’s own production company made a profit of more than Rs 4 crore in his first production venture.
Meppadiyan released on January 14 has already garnered a theatrical share of Rs 2.4 crore. Kerala’s gross collection is 5.1 crore. The film also grossed Rs 1.65 crore at GCC Collection. Meppadiyan's dubbing and remake rights in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada fetched over Rs 2 crore. The film got Rs 12 lakh for its audio rights. The OTT rights was for Amazon.
Rs 5.5 crore was spent for the film including its print and publicity. Only half of the people was permitted in theatres following Covid norms. Activists claim that even then the film was able to make a big win in this situation as well.
