IDUKKI: Former Electricity Minister MM Mani has corrected a statement that he made regarding the power crisis in the state. MM Mani said that the state had to impose a power cut as part of a nationwide power crisis and that shortage of coal was the reason for the crisis.

On Friday morning, Mani had criticized that those who wrote an article against purchasing electricity were the ones who now imposed a power cut in the state. He corrected this statement later in the day. He also said that the state will have to purchase electricity if necessary.

Mani also softened his stance on the KSEB strike. "Management must be able to bring everyone under one umbrella. There were no problems when I was the minister. Management should be ready to listen to concerns of the employees," he said in Thodupuzha.
