Shared post defaming Sharad Pawar; police arrest Marathi actress

MUMBAI: An actress has been arrested for allegedly sharing an objectionable post on social media about NCP chief Sharad Pawar. She has been identified as Ketaki Chitale (29), a Marathi actress. A 23-year-old pharmacy student was also been arrested in this case. Nikhil Bhamre was arrested from Nasik for allegedly making an objectionable comment on Twitter against Pawar. Nikhil shared the post on May 11.

The actress produced in the court has been remanded in police custody till May 18. Nikhil issued threats to kill Pawar like Nathuram Godse did to Mahatma Gandhi. The actress’ post contained phrases like hell is waiting and you hate Brahmins, referring to Pawar.

As the post went viral, Maharashtra Home Minister Jitendra Awad asked to file a case against them. No case has been registered against the actress and the arrested youth earlier.
