KAYAMKULAM: Police have arrested two more persons, including a South African national, in connection with the incident in which a couple was arrested in Kayamkulam with MDMA. The arrested persons have been identified as Philip and Kasargod native Muhammad Kunhi. It was these two persons who handed over the drug to the couple, the police said.
So far, police have arrested 6 persons in the case. The preliminary conclusion is that it was Philip who manufactured MDMA and offered it for sale.
The couple, Aneesh and Arya, were arrested with 67 grams of MDMA on May 24 soon after they reached Kayamkulam in a private bus. Police had also arrested two other members of the gang- Nemom native Nahas and Keerikkad native Renjith.
After conducting a detailled investigation, the police first arrested Muhammad Kunhi from Kasargod. Later, they went to Bangalore and arrested Philip.
According to the police, the gang was involved in drug trafficking worth crores of rupees every month. Upon checking their phones and accounts, it was found that the accused were involved in the manufacturing and supply of drugs.
