THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr. Shashi Tharoor MP has said that the Railway Board should correct its unreasonable decision to drop the Nemom terminal project, which was announced in the 2011-12 Railway Budget and laid the foundation stone by the Union Railway Minister in 2019. He made the request in a letter sent by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
"In 2019, the DPR of about Rs 117 crore was submitted by the Southern Railway authorities to the Railway Board for approval. When asked about the progress of the project several times inside and outside Parliament, I was told that it was still under consideration. But now the Railway Board in its reply to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat has abandoned an important project in a single line that the DPR is not justifiable," Tharoor wrote in the letter.
