'Anil, show some courtesy to your father'; he will learn once he loses polls, says Tharoor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram MP and UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor urged Anil Antony to show love and courtesy towards his father AK Antony. In an interview given to a news outlet, Tharoor said that Anil will learn some lessons once he loses in Pathanamthitta.

"Anil should understand his father's grief. It is extremely sad to hear Anil saying extreme BJP policies. He is a leader whom I had encouraged like my son. I'm sure that he will learn some lessons once he loses in Pathanamthitta," Tharoor said.

"Anil forgot the things that AK Antony tried to teach him. Congressmen do not use the language used by Anil. I don't wish to speak more about it," Tharoor said.

Earlier, AK Antony had said that the BJP would replace the current Constitution with a new one if it came to power yet again.

"It is planning to change the Constitution prepared by Dr BR Ambedkar. The support for the BJP is decreasing. We can see the indications from Narendra Modi's body language. India will be destroyed if the BJP comes to power for the third time," Antony said.

Antony had also said that his son Anil Antony should not win in Pathanamthitta.

"From the very beginning, I have been following the stand that family and politics are different. Don't make me say more about my children. I am not at all used to that language. It is wrong for the children of Congress leaders to join the BJP. I am sure that Anto Antony will win in Pathanamthitta with a massive majority without me taking part in the campaign works. I am not going for the campaign due to some health issues," Antony said.
