KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday came up with a response to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. Pinarayi Vijayan said that the governor should not degrade himself while he is occupying a constitutional post. Pinarayi also accused the governor of showing submissiveness to the RSS. The CM was speaking at the inauguration of the Kottayam Local Committee office in Kannur. Earlier on Monday, the governor had called a press conference and leveled serious allegations against the CM.
"Do not say something against the Communist Party as if you are shouting something out of a sudden feeling. The governor should not become the epitome of anti-communism. Arif Mohammad Khan should not express his personal opinion while sitting in the office of the governor. The RSS is trying to establish that it was they who carried out the freedom struggle. RSS ideology was based on fascism prevailing in Italy and the views of Adolf Hitler against communism, Christianity and Islam. They even went there to study about these ideologies and brought them here.," the CM said.
"The governor even went on to say that the Communist party is getting things done by using its might. He should learn the history of Kerala. Communist leaders were once hunted down in the country and the state. However, in 1957, the people brought the Communist party to power after realizing that they want communists. Arif Mohammad Khan, the current anti-Communist propagandist, should understand that although Communist members were subjected to inhuman torture, the people eventually stood with the Communist party," he added.
