THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kovalam MLA Vincent lodged a complaint with the Speaker in the incident of assaulting KSU activists who protested in front of Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran's house over the letter controversy. The complaint demanded action against the personal staff of Sachin Dev MLA and husband of the mayor, for attacking the activists. Sachin Dev's personal staff member Abin Sathyan assaulted the KSU workers. This is against the code of conduct of the employees as they are paid from the government exchequer. Therefore, Vincent MLA filed a complaint with the Speaker demanding action against him.

KSU workers protested in front of Mayor Arya Rajendran's house as part of the Congress protest related to the letter controversy. They waved black flags to the mayor. In between this, people including the DYFI activists assaulted the KSU activists.

Meantime, corporation standing committee chairman and parliamentary party secretary D R Anil gave a statement to the crime branch and vigilance in the letter controversy. Anil told the investigation team that he is not aware of Mayor Arya Rajendran's letter and has not seen the letter. A letter was drafted to appoint Kudumbashree workers. It was drafted only for publicity. Anil's statement is that he does not know how the letter was leaked from the office.

Anil's letter related to the appointment at SAT Hospital was released earlier. The vigilance is investigating the letters of the mayor and Anil and the appointments made in the corporation in the last two years.

In the meanwhile, the Congress has decided to intensify the protest in the corporation today demanding the mayor's resignation in the letter controversy. BJP councillors will also protest. Heavy security has been imposed in the area.
