Food poisoning in nursing hostel in Kottayam; nearly 60 students hospitalized

KOTTAYAM: Another case of food poisoning has been reported in the state again. Those in the nursing hostel of Mandiram Hospital at Manganam in Kottayam developed food poisoning. It is suspected that they got poisoned from the food in the hospital canteen. About 60 children have been admitted to the hospital. As the condition of none is serious, they were discharged and sent with their parents. Following the incident, the food safety department conducted an inspection and closed the canteen.
