RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has officially announced that Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, after the crescent moon was not sighted on Wednesday evening. Authorities confirmed that efforts to observe the moon marking the end of Ramadan were unsuccessful, leading to the completion of a full 30 days of fasting. As a result, Eid will be observed on Friday across the Kingdom. Other Gulf countries, including the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait, will also celebrate Eid on Friday.
Meanwhile, in Oman, the moon sighting will take place on Thursday evening. If the crescent is seen, Eid will be on Friday. If not, it will be celebrated on Saturday. In Kerala, a final decision on the Eid date will also be made tomorrow based on moon sighting.
