Around 55,000 followers in four days; Here is the viral policeman

CHERUTHURUTHY: The policeman from Guruvayur who went viral on Instagram is presently at the Thrissur Police Camp. 27-year-old Arjun had come for duty at the Guruvayur Temple as part of the arrangements to control the crowds during the Sri Krishna Jayanthi celebrations. His humble and courteous behaviour towards people won everyone’s hearts. After his photos taken by some went viral on social media, everyone was eager to find out who this policeman was.

The posts on social media asked whether Lord Krishna himself had appeared in person. Arjun belongs to Koottanad in Palakkad. He is the younger brother of renowned Kerala Thullal artist Kalamandalam Nandakumar. His father is Ramachandran and mother (late) Girija. Arjun is the youngest of four siblings. His eldest brother, Gokuldas, is a field engineer with Indian Oil Corporation and also acts in short films. His third brother is a martial arts and yoga trainer. In his early years, Arjun was mainly known as the younger brother of Kalamandalam Nandakumar and short-film actor Gokuldas. Now, they are being referred to as the elder brothers of the viral Guruvayur policeman. Although a bit sad about the sudden change, we proudly say that he is our younger brother, said Kalamandalam Nandakumar.

Job he always wanted
Arjun joined the police force after securing 35th rank among around 35,000 candidates who appeared for the PSC examination. He joined the Muttikulangara Training Academy in January 2025 and completed training in Kannur in November 2025. He is now working at KAP 2 Ramavarmapuram in Thrissur. Arjun said that he joined the police force with the aim of serving the people and that he was happy to get an opportunity to come to Guruvayur Temple.

He is also active in the modelling field. Following his viral appearance, his Instagram follower count has been increasing by thousands every day. He gained around 55,000 followers on Instagram in just four days.
