NEW YORK: Argentina captain Lionel Messi shared a painful message with his fans about the World Cup final defeat. Messi expressed his utter disappointment in an Instagram post.
''This pain is unbearable. It will take a long time to heal this wound. But this World Cup has also given us many good memories. Each of us gave our best for this team. The whole country stood with us. We know that we cannot say that we have achieved everything. But we have played in the finals of two World Cups. I thank everyone who stood by us from the bottom of my heart.'' - Messi's note.
Messi also congratulated the Spanish team for winning the World Cup.
