‘He’s my cousin, so it wasn’t easy,’ Keerthy Suresh on romancing Vishak Nair

Actress Keerthy Suresh, who entered the film industry as a child artiste and went on to win the hearts of audiences, has been part of several acclaimed films across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema. The actress is now making her web series debut with Netflix’ Akka. The actress’ revelation during the promotion of the series has gone viral on social media.

Keerthy in an interview with her co-star Radhika Apte said that she and fellow actor Vishak Nair are cousins. She said romancing him was not that easy.

Keerthy added that Vishak told her about this when he came to read the script and she said that it would have been better if he had not told her about it.

‘One interesting thing is that Vishak and I are cousins, second cousins. So, romancing him wasn’t that easy,’ she said.

Akka is a crime thriller web series directed by Dharmaraj Shetty and produced under the banner of YRF Entertainment. Set in the 1980s, the series revolves around smuggling, the underworld and power struggles in a fictional South Indian town called Pernuru. Keerthy plays Bhavani, a strong character, while Radhika Apte portrays Rudra, who arrives to challenge Bhavani’s empire.

The web series is scheduled to begin streaming on Netflix on October 30.
