Did Unni Mukundan hit Major Ravi after an argument? Director breaks silence on controversy

Reports of a fallout between actor Unni Mukundan and director Major Ravi have been circulating in the Malayalam film industry for a long time. Rumours also suggested that Unni Mukundan had slapped Major Ravi on a film set following an argument. Major Ravi has now clarified the issue in an interview with 24 News.

"At that time, Unni Mukundan was an upcoming star, and I was a director. I had enough enemies who would take pleasure in spreading a story that someone like Unni had slapped me. However, Unni Mukundan told John Brittas in an interview that he had never said he slapped me. I have also never claimed that I slapped Unni Mukundan. Whatever happened between us, let it be called a disagreement or something else," Major Ravi said.

"When people claim that a junior has slapped a senior, those who are hostile towards the senior person take great pleasure in spreading such stories. You can see anonymous people making comments online. These were the same people who spread this story. There is no issue between Unni Mukundan and me. That is how the matter ended," he added.

Major Ravi further clarified that he currently has no differences with Unni Mukundan. He recalled that the actor had personally attended his 60th birthday celebration to extend his wishes. The two also spent time together on the occasion. He added that he does not view other people's remarks as signs of hostility and prefers to ignore fake news circulated on social media.
