CHENNAI: The Chengalpattu Mahila Court adjourned the hearing of the divorce case between Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, to August 7. The court rejected both requests to participate in the court proceedings through video conferencing. The court also clarified that the email IDs of both people should be provided. After both of them did not appear when the case was considered earlier on April 20, the court had strictly directed them to appear in person this time. The lawyers of both of them had sought permission to appear online, citing security concerns in view of their high social status.
Meanwhile, rumours intensified of a truce between the couple. It is reported that Sangeetha, who reached Tamil Nadu from London, is currently staying with Vijay’s parents. Earlier, there were reports of a pacification attempt under the mediation of Vijay’s mother.
It is now said that the couple will likely get back together on Vijay’s birthday, June 22nd.
