'We were in love for about a year and a half'; Vijay’s son opens up about his first love and breakup

CHENNAI: Actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay has opened up about his personal life, revealing that he had only been in a romantic relationship once in his life. The relationship lasted for around one and a half years before the two decided to part ways after talking about their inability to take the relationship forward.

Jason shared details about the relationship and breakup during an interview. “There was only one love. It was a few years ago when I was in college. We were in a relationship for around one and a half years,” Jason said.

He also spoke about the period after the breakup and revealed that he used to listen to Yuvan Shankar Raja’s romantic songs at the time.

Jason said he deliberately stayed away from social media after the relationship ended. He explained that he felt continuing to stay connected through social media would make it difficult for both of them to move on with their lives.

“After the breakup, I did not try to post stories on Instagram or anything like that. If I posted something and then contacted her again, it would become difficult to move on. So, we decided to keep our distance. I always control myself from doing things that I feel I should not do,” Jason said.

“I am fine now. Looking back, I think it was good that things happened that way. Both of us are moving forward with our lives,” he said.

Jason also said that the breakup helped him focus completely on cinema. He added that he was able to turn his full attention towards his work after the relationship ended.
