Deepika Padukone is continuing work on Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi action film Raaka with Allu Arjun as she enters the eighth month of her pregnancy.
Recent reports indicate that the actor is currently focused on completing her portions in the film’s first part before taking a maternity break in September. The makers are expected to continue shooting with the remaining cast during her absence.
Padukone announced her second pregnancy in April while Raaka was in production. Her pregnancy subsequently led to speculation about changes to her role and the film’s schedule, but reports have since indicated that she continues to be an important part of the project.
The actor had also reportedly filmed demanding action sequences for Raaka while seven months pregnant. Reports in July said she was shooting almost every day, including night shifts and physically demanding action scenes, as the production worked to stay on schedule.
Her continued commitment to the project has reportedly impressed the film’s cast and crew. Recent reports have said that Padukone is working to complete her current portions before beginning her maternity break.
Raaka, directed by Atlee and starring Allu Arjun in the lead, is being mounted as a large-scale action film with sci-fi elements and extensive visual effects. The film is scheduled for a 2027 theatrical release.
While reports have said Padukone is expected to return to the project after her maternity break, her current schedule should not be described as the completion of all her work on the film. Recent reports specifically indicate that she is wrapping the first part/current schedule before her break.
