Actress Kani Kusruthi's outfit and clutch bag in watermelon design were much noticed on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. Kani used this clutch to show solidarity with Palestine. The colors of the Palestinian flag, red, green and black, are on the watermelon. Hence watermelon is considered as a symbol of freedom struggle.
A boutique called Salt Studio in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi designed the clutch purse for the actress. Now Salt Studio has shared the video of making this clutch through Instagram. This clutch is made by stitching yellow, green and red beads on green velvet fabric.
First, a picture of a watermelon is drawn on the fabric and beads are stitched over it. Kani styled this clutch with a white gown on the red carpet. This dress and hanging earrings are all designed by Salt Studio. Kani was styled by Diya John, founder of Salt Studio.
