MUMBAI: Bollywood star couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have welcomed their second child, a baby girl. The couple shared the news with fans through a joint Instagram post featuring a picture of their newborn’s tiny footprint. The birth comes nearly two years after their first daughter, Dua, was born on September 8, 2024. Just before the birth, Deepika and Ranveer visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple with Ranveer’s parents to seek blessings. Deepika wore an orange-and-purple kurta set, while Ranveer opted for a purple kurta and white trousers. The visit was reminiscent of September 2024, when the couple had visited the same temple two days before Dua’s birth.
The couple had shared the news of their second pregnancy on Dua’s second birthday. Ranveer had recently posted a series of black-and-white photographs from their maternity shoot on Instagram, featuring Deepika and moments with their daughter. “Baby Dua and our hearts are getting bigger! Thank you for your blessings!” he wrote in the caption. The arrival of their second daughter now makes Dua an elder sister, as the family grows to four.
Deepika and Ranveer fell in love while working together on Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. After years of dating, the couple reportedly got secretly engaged in 2015 before marrying on November 14, 2018, at Lake Como in Italy. Their wedding ceremonies followed both Deepika’s Konkani traditions and Ranveer’s Sindhi customs. The couple welcomed Dua in September 2024 and have now become parents to two daughters.
