From winning hearts in Malayalam cinema to making her presence felt in Tamil films, Mamitha Baiju has been steadily expanding her reach across South Indian cinema. Now, the actress has received a special shout-out from SJ Suryah, who praised her recent performances and described her as a ‘nadippu arakki’.
Suryah made the remark during an interview with IndiaGlitz. When the interviewer asked him to name an actress who deserved the feminine equivalent of the title ‘nadippu arakkan’, a term associated with powerful acting, he promptly named Mamitha.
The actor-filmmaker also spoke appreciatively of her recent work, saying that Mamitha had been delivering impressive performances lately. When asked to name an actress from North India who deserved the same recognition, Suryah picked Alia Bhatt.
Meanwhile, Mamitha is gearing up for her next Malayalam outing, Hello Dear. The film, directed by Dinoy Paulose, features Sangeeth Prathap in the lead role.
Mamitha's return to Malayalam cinema with Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, starring Nivin Pauly, came after her growing presence in Tamil cinema. The film reportedly crossed Rs 300 crore at the box office, including collections of more than Rs 150 crore from Kerala alone.
