Intimate scenes may look effortless on screen, but Radhika Apte says there can be plenty of nervousness behind the scenes — and male actors are no exception. Speaking to Filmfare while promoting Lust Stories 3, Apte opened up about what she has observed while filming intimate sequences. She said she finds it “sweet to see men getting nervous”, noting that conversations around such scenes often tend to focus on women.

At the same time, Apte pointed out that male actors can also experience vulnerability and nervousness while filming intimate moments.

“And I can literally hear their heart beating faster from nervousness,” she said.

The actress went on to stress that the reaction is not merely something visible on the surface. “The vulnerability and nervousness in their bodies and minds is real,” she said.

Apte also acknowledged why attention is often placed on women when discussing intimate scenes. According to the actress, that focus is necessary because “there’s a change that needs to happen.”

Her comments offer a glimpse into the nerves that can accompany intimate performances — something viewers may not necessarily think about when watching the finished scene.
