Actress Ritika Singh has warned fans against a fake Facebook page using her name to collect money through a subscription model, while also expressing concern over realistic AI-generated videos featuring her likeness. In a video message shared on social media, Ritika clarified that her verified Instagram account is her only official account where she posts content. Pointing to its blue verification badge, she stressed that anything posted through the account is genuinely from her.
Addressing the Facebook page, which charges around Rs 400 a month for subscriptions, the actress said it was neither verified nor using the correct spelling of her name. She questioned how such accounts could operate subscription services and make money through fake profiles without providing proper identification details. Ritika said she had initially decided against addressing the issue, hoping it would eventually die down. However, she said the situation had continued and that defamation was now taking place.
The actress also spoke about AI-generated videos that appear extremely realistic, expressing her frustration over the misuse of artificial intelligence to create misleading content featuring her. "I hate this. I hate that I have to come here and clear my name when I haven't even done anything," she said. Highlighting the potential damage to her reputation, Ritika said the videos were realistic enough that even her family and friends might struggle to recognise that they were not genuine.
Rather than publicly sharing the Facebook page's details and giving it further attention, the actress urged fans not to believe its claims or purchase subscriptions. She asked them to report the page and help get it taken down. "I trust you. Okay, don't buy the subscription and report the page. And if you can help me take it down, please do," she said.
