CJP protest clash: 21-year-old woman put on ventilator support, condition critical

NEW DELHI: A woman, injured in a police lathicharge during the Parliament march organised by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), was put on ventilator support. The condition of the girl, who has been admitted to Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, remains critical.

The woman, who was running away to escape the police lathicharge, hit her head on a barricade during the CJP's Parliament march on Monday. She suffered a deep head injury and was later taken to the hospital by CJP workers. She was put on a ventilator by the wee hours of yesterday as her condition deteriorated. Upon learning of the information, Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and CJP founder Abhijit Dipke visited the girl at the hospital.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda met top officials and assessed the treatment facilities and the current situation. Dipke later said that more than 90 CJP workers injured in the police action are being treated at the RML Hospital. Dipke also apologised for the serious injuries suffered by CJP workers and supporters in the police action.
