MUMBAI: In a shocking incident, four people died after the roof of a temple collapsed in Maharashtra. The accident happened at the Yashwadi Temple in Parbhani district at around 3.30 pm today. The slab of the temple's 'sabhamandap' (outer hall) in front of the temple’s sanctum collapsed during construction work. Several people were injured in the incident.
Authorities rescued 27 people who were trapped under the debris. Initial reports suggest that a possible failure in fixing the pillars under construction may have caused the collapse. Police have started an investigation into the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the accident.
