NEW DELHI: Lockdown-like restrictions are imposed on the experts involved in preparing the question papers for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has imposed strict restrictions on them preparing the question papers and translating them. The extraordinary step has been taken to prevent question paper leaks and restore credibility. The restrictions imposed on them will be lifted only after the end of the exam. National media reports say that they are presently denied all facilities to connect with the outside world.

Use of mobile phones and laptops have been restricted. In addition, access to the internet and outside contacts has been tightly controlled. Reports say they are shifted to a secure undisclosed center. Only authorized officials have access to this center. The NTA has also sought the help of the Air Force for the distribution of question papers. Reports say the center has taken strict measures to ensure that there are no irregularities in the NEET UG re-examination process from the beginning to the end.

The NTA has informed that every stage of the question paper development, translation to moderation, printing, packaging, transportation and distribution will be subjected to meticulous scrutiny. The NEET UG re-exam is being conducted after the exam held last month was cancelled due to question paper leak and security lapses in the question bank. The re-exam has been arranged in a way that ensures transparency and credibility of the exam that affects the future of lakhs of students.
