SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and journalist Nidhi Razdan tied the knot on Saturday at an intimate ceremony. The wedding photos were shared on social media. Omar Abdullah posted the images with the caption, "A new journey began yesterday." Nidhi also shared photos, writing, "It is done, bro." The marriage was solemnised under the Special Marriage Act. Reports indicate that only close relatives and friends attended the ceremonies, which took place in Srinagar and New Delhi.
Following a settlement between the couple, the marriage between 56-year-old Omar Abdullah and his first wife, Payal, was dissolved by an order of the Supreme Court in July of this year. Omar Abdullah and Payal, who met while working at the Oberoi Hotel in Delhi, married in 1994. They have two sons, Zahir and Zamir. This is Nidhi's second marriage.
Omar Abdullah’s parents, Farooq Abdullah and Molly, along with his three sisters and other relatives, were present at the ceremony. Nidhi’s parents—senior journalist M.K. Razdan and Sarala Razdan—also attended the ceremony.
