Woman dies after falling into boiling sambar vessel

VIJAYAWADA: A woman died after falling into a boiling sambar vessel during an annadanam programme. The incident happened Sunday morning amidst the annadanam organised as part of Vinayaka Chathurthi at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. The woman dead has been identified as Sujatha aged 46. She was at her younger son’s house.

The accident happened when she was helping her relatives in cooking. While moving a large vessel containing sambar from the stove, she accidentally fell into it. Sujatha, who suffered serious burn injuries in the accident, died on Monday while undergoing treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
