BENGALURU: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that a major conspiracy was behind the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He claimed that the exercise was aimed at removing the voting rights of people who oppose the BJP. Speaking at the People’s Tribunal organised at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, Dipke alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Election Commission used the SIR to delete votes and bring down the governments led by Pinarayi Vijayan and MK Stalin.
Dipke alleged that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar removed votes on the instructions of Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said ‘One Nation, One Election’ was only a slogan and that the actual aim was ‘One Nation, One Party’.
He claimed that there was only a two-percentage-point difference in the vote share between the BJP and the Opposition in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. He also pointed out that the BJP, which had set a target of winning 400 seats, secured only 240 seats.
Dipke alleged that around 13 crore votes had been deleted across India, including one crore in Karnataka alone. He claimed that 50,000 votes were removed from a constituency associated with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, where she lost by 15,000 votes. Similarly, he alleged that 40,000 votes were deleted from the constituency where Arvind Kejriwal lost by 4,000 votes. In Tamil Nadu, nearly one lakh votes were allegedly removed from a constituency represented by Stalin, where the winning margin was around 9,000 to 10,000 votes. Dipke further alleged that similar deletions in Kerala led to the Pinarayi Vijayan government being brought down. He said the four leaders were among those who campaigned against Modi in 2024 and helped prevent the BJP from securing a large majority.
