BENGALURU: A 26-year-old youth killed his grandmother with a stone for opposing sale of ganja. The incident happened Wednesday evening at Shivamogga in Karnataka. Kishore murdered his grandmother Susheelamma (55) of Milaghatt ward. Kishore was absconding after the incident. The police caught him today and shot him in his leg after he assaulted a policeman in a bid to avoid his arrest.

Kishore was into ganja business at his house. Susheelamma had opposed this from the beginning. The two often fought over his use of drugs. On the day of the incident, the two fought and she told him that she would inform the police. When Susheelamma went to call the police, he followed her, then pushed the old woman on the road and killed her by hitting her on the head with a stone.

Kishore fled after the incident. The police found his hideout and surrounded the place and arrested him. In the meantime, Kishore attacked a cop. He was then shot in the leg and subdued. Kishore is presently undergoing treatment in the hospital. A case has been registered against him under sections including murder.
