Male friend stabs 24-year-old woman to death in Ernakulam 

KOCHI: A 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her male friend in North Paravur. She has been identified as Suramya of Choondy. The police have taken her friend Shibin into custody.

The murder was committed in Shibin’s house Thursday morning at 10 am. The police say that the two have known each other for more than six years. Suramya often visits her friend. While the two were sitting and talking in the room inside, Shibin suddenly became enraged and attacked her with a knife. Shibin’s parents were at home at the time of the incident. However, they have no clarity about what exactly happened. Shibin also sustained injuries on his hands. The police, who arrived after receiving the information, took Shibin into custody and admitted him to the hospital.

The two of them have been thinking about ending their relationship for quite some time. A dispute over this may have led to the murder. A clarity would be obtained only after grilling Shibin. The police have shifted Bibin’s parents from the house. The local residents nearby are in fear. No one is even willing to step outside their homes. Additional police personnel have been deployed in the area.
