Woman, lover arrested for killing husband and dumping body in gorge

DEHRADUN: A woman and her lover killed her husband by slitting his throat after he discovered their relationship and later dumped his body into a gorge in Dehradun. The deceased has been identified as Madan Mukhiya from Saharsa district. His wife, Meena Devi (30), and her lover, Lallan Sharma (23), have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Lallan Sharma used to work with Madan Mukhiya. He and Meena Devi had been in a relationship for the past three years. Mukhiya recently came to know about their relationship, following which the two decided to kill him.

Meena Devi then took her husband to a nearby forest area on the pretext of having drinks. After Mukhiya became intoxicated, Meena and Lallan Sharma slit his throat with a knife and killed him. They then dumped his body into a gorge in the Manduwala forest. Mukhiya's body was found on Saturday. The police registered a case and arrested Meena Devi and Lallan Sharma after an investigation based on CCTV footage.
