KOZHIKODE: Former Sports Minister V Abdurahiman criticised the report submitted by the Sports Department Secretary on the Messi controversy. He was speaking at a political clarification meeting organised by the CPM local committee in Talakkad, Tirur.

“Argentina did not go to play in China despite receiving money. The organisers had also filed a case. There is nothing true in the report filed by the sports secretary.” Abdurahiman also welcomed an investigation into the Messi controversy.

The former minister's response comes after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) began an investigation into the scam. The investigation is being led by ADGP P Vijayan. The SIT will decide which sections to charge and file a case in connection with the incident after the preliminary investigation.
