THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A new system in Sabarimala to help locate devotees getting lost from their groups during rush time. AI-based thermal cameras will be installed for this. A model of this was presented at the conclave held in Kochi earlier. It has been decided to set up 400 new thermal cameras and related systems. It is believed that this will make it easier to find children or elderly people who go missing in the crowd.
Earlier, used to call out the names of people getting lost in the crowd through a mike in their respective languages from the information centers at Nilakkal, Pampa and Sannidhanam. However, from now on, if the information of pilgrims getting lost in the crowd is reported to the information centers, instead of announcements, they can be easily found through AI cameras.
The photo of the missing person is taken from the data provided for the virtual queue and uploaded to the AI system. Then, the footage from the AI cameras installed at different locations will be checked. As soon as the person is identified, an alert will be given to the control room. The new system will later identify the location of the missing person and inform the security personnel, who will easily find the person.
AI thermal cameras will be installed at Nilakkal parking ground, Chain Service bus stand, bus stand in Pampa, Triveni bridge, Ganapathy Temple, Neelimala on the Pampa-Sannidhanam route, Appachimedu, Sabaripeedam, Marakoottam, Q Complex, Charalmedu and at Sannidhanam's Nadapanthal, Sopanam, Pathinettampadi, Prasada counter, Annadana Mandapam and Pandithavalam.
