Auto-rickshaw door opens, seven-year-old student fatally run over by lorry in Kozhikode 

KOZHIKODE: A seven-year-old boy was killed tragically after falling from a moving auto-rickshaw and being run over by a lorry at West Chennamangallur, near Mukkam.

The victim, Amal, was a second-standard student at the Manassery Government UP School. The accident took place at the Karuthedath bend while he was returning home from school. The auto-rickshaw, which featured doors on both sides, was travelling from Manassery to Pulparamparambu.

The child was thrown onto the road when the right-side door of the vehicle suddenly opened. A passing lorry immediately ran over his head.
He is the son of Shameesh Machingal, a Lead UI Designer at Mathrubhumi, and Bini, from Pazhoor Kavungal. His sister, Hima, is a fourth-standard student at the Manassery GM UP School.
