Boy pillion riding on mother’s scooter run over by lorry in Kollam

KOLLAM: A 14-year-old boy, who was pillion riding on his mother’s scooter, lost his life after a lorry ran over him. The accident happened near Palkulangara in Kollam. He has been identified as Salman Faris of Ayathil in Kollam. The tipper lorry hit the scooter the two were travelling. The boy who fell on the road came directly under the wheels of the lorry.

The scooter fell under the lorry after hitting a two-wheeler which was coming from the opposite direction. The boy’s mother fell on the opposite direction and Salman under the lorry. His body has been shifted to the hospital. Vehicles are being diverted through several roads due to the ongoing construction of the national highway. Police said the accident occurred on a very narrow road.
