PATHANAMTHITTA: Police registered a case against Congress Pathanamthitta District Panchayat member Sreena Devi Kunjamma. The Adoor police filed the case based on a complaint lodged by CPM State Committee Member K. P. Udayabhanu. In his complaint, K. P. Udayabhanu alleged that Sreena defamed him through a social media post.

The FIR states that Sreena Devi Kunjamma attempted to defame Udayabhanu and portray him as someone with compulsive sexual behaviour. Sreena Devi’s controversial Facebook post followed Udayabhanu’s criticism of Rahul Mamkootathil. Sreena Devi Kunjamma is a former CPI leader who jumped ship to Congress in recent times.

Meanwhile, another remark made by Sreena Devi Kunjamma in connection with a clash between the Youth Congress and the DYFI in Adoor had previously sparked a major controversy. In a Facebook post, Sreena Devi said that an attack could have been stopped if Congress workers had thrown ganja at DYFI workers, as she said they would have taken it and retreated.
