Distress stemming from medical conditions? Couple found hanging in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A couple was found hanging in their home in Ammadam on Saturday. Satyan (66)—from Vadakkepurakkal, Pidikkaparambu, Chathakkudam, Vallachira—and his wife, Kumari (59), died in the incident. The couple were discovered dead on the terrace located on Pallipperum Road in Ammadam Puthanvazhi, around 3:00 AM today.

The couple’s son and daughter-in-law found them after returning home from a temple visit in Chottanikkara. Satyan had been undergoing treatment following a stroke, and it is reported that Kumari had been suffering from kidney-related ailments. The police suspect that the couple died by suicide, driven by distress stemming from their medical conditions and financial difficulties.
