THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A departmental inquiry has been ordered against four police personnel, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), over their alleged links with the sand mafia and goons. The officers facing the inquiry are DySP Nandakumar, Sub-Inspector Sumesh Raj, Senior Civil Police Officer (SCPO) Jinu and Grade Assistant Sub-Inspector (GASI) Harikrishnan.

The Crime Branch had earlier submitted a report to the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), stating that the officers had maintained close links with Sharath, a person who has been repeatedly included in the police rowdy list. The Director General of Police (DGP) had recommended strict action against the officers. Following this, orders were issued to conduct a departmental inquiry against them.
