KOTTAYAM: NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair responded to the criticism made by Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and Union Minister Suresh Gopi. G Sukumaran Nair said the comments passed by the Vice President of India and Union Minister Suresh Gopi reeked of political interests and ulterior motives. Nair said he would not comment further on the matter. Amid allegations of denying permission to the Vice President of India in Perunna, Nair said that no one was prohibited from paying floral tributes at Mannam Samadhi.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Union Minister Suresh Gopi had raised the criticism after inaugurating the Mannam Smriti Mandapam built under the auspices of the Delhi NSS the other day.
“Drop your condescending nature. You are something only because of the contributions of Mannath Padmanabhan. We are just the instrument to continue his legacy. It is unbecoming for someone to flaunt their status as President and General Secretary and deny entry to others at Mannam Samadhi. Mannath Padmanabhan believed that great institutions are built not by great financial capacity, but by commitment,” the Vice President said in his inaugural speech.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi made a veiled attack on Nair, saying that a purification ritual would soon happen in Perunna and the first signs were evident after the election.
